In January this year I was given my first prophetic word about going to Ireland. I had never, as far as I remember considered going to Ireland. On the 6th of September, I had an unusual spiritual experience where I heard music so clearly in my mind that I wasn't sure if I was the only one hearing it! I knew it was from the Lord and recognised it to be music that sounded like it was from the world war period in England around 100 years ago. I leaned in, in prayer and was asking the Lord, "what are you showing me?" Then another song came to my mind 'It's a Long Way to Tipperary', which was completely random, having not thought about that song for many years.
I began prayerfully researching the rest of the lyrics and origin of the song and discovered that this song was written about Irish soldiers going to England to join forces during WW1. It was written by an Irish and an English man together, and the song was composed in my hometown of Solihull in England. Considering there are 1,186 towns in England this is not a coincidence and it is often how God speaks. As I have continued to pray, I feel that God is showing me that just as the Irish joined forces with Britain as allies in the war, and as this song was written by an English and Irish man joining together, God was going to redeem, reconcile and reunite relationships between England and Ireland especially from the pain that has happened in the last 100 years.
As I continued to pray, I felt the Lord show me that just as in the song the Irish went into England, that redemption would look like pouring out His Spirit in revival in Ireland and the Irish then bringing this to the United Kingdom which would bring reconciliation between Ireland, Northern Ireland and Britain. I felt to research revival in Ireland and found that a revival started in Ulster (now part of Northern), Ireland in 1859, that spread to Wales, Scotland and England and saw hundreds of thousands of people come to Jesus. It was later in 1904 that the Welsh revival broke out, which has impacted many nations around the world.
After this revelation, I knew I was meant to go to Ireland to intercede and represent reconciliation and repentance as someone from England. I prayed for an opportunity to go, and seven weeks later a trip opportunity came up to go with a team from my ministry school that I am currently at in California, USA (Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry (BSSM)).
As I prayed and asked God for confirmation, if this was His timing, I felt peace, and all I heard was 'four corners Ireland'. When I prayerfully researched this, I found that there are a total of four provinces in Ireland which make up what looks like four corners, and that this phrase is commonly used in Ireland to refer to this and is associated with unity in Ireland. I felt this was further confirmation that the Lord wanted to bring unity within Ireland and I felt that this is what His main purpose was for me on this trip.
In April 2025 I will be travelling to Northern Ireland and Ireland. We will be partnering with local churches to preach the Gospel, sharing the love of Jesus outside of the church and encouraging local churches and leaders. I believe this trip is incredibly significant for what God is about to do in Ireland.
Breaking Down Dividing Walls
As I have been prayerfully researching more about the history of Ireland and Northern Ireland, I have felt the Lord highlighting the significance of walls in their history and believe that the Lord has a plan for redemption.
Today before I started writing this, I felt led by the Holy Spirit to look up about the dry-stone walls which are famous in Ireland such as in the picture above and found out these walls are known as 'Famine Walls'. They were mostly built to provide employment for those during the 'Irish Potato Famine', and many of the walls served no other purpose. Again, this history relates to the British; during the 'Potato Famine' where there was not sufficient support from the British, which led to over a million Irish people starving to death. This led to a great distrust in the British and is thought to be a significant factor in why Ireland sought independence from Britain.
Other significant walls in Northern Ireland are known as 'Peace Walls'. These are physical walls that were put up over 60 years ago between Protestant and Catholic neighbourhoods in Northern Ireland to reduce the violence that was taking place between these two communities. The history of hostility between the Catholics and Protestants goes back to the 16th century, which came from British imposing protestant faith in Ireland. It became political and eventually led to Northern Ireland separating from Ireland. Many have called for the removal of these walls, however, there to this day still remains hostility and division in Northern Ireland, and in Belfast over 20 miles of 'Peace Walls' remain. See the short video below for more information on these 'Peace Walls'.
As I was praying into this, I was reminded of the following verse from Ephesians 2:14. The 'Famine Walls' and 'Peace Walls' represent pain and division. However, Ephesians 2:11-22 speaks on bringing unity and healing between the Jews and the Gentiles; that Jesus through His death and resurrection brought peace to both, and both now have access to the Father which breaks down any division between the Jews and Gentiles.
For he himself is our peace, who has made us both one and has broken down in the flesh the dividing wall of hostility." - Ephesians 2:14 (ESV)
In the same way, I believe this is a prophetic verse for the current political, denominational and geographical division and how God will bring peace as many people in Ireland come to salvation, which will lead to the breaking down of the dividing walls.
I believe that Jesus will be glorified through the revival that will start in Ireland, and that Ireland and Northern Ireland will be known worldwide for the reconciliation and unity that occurs between nations which will redeem years of political and religious divide, and that as this revival spreads to the world, there will be peace from wars and where there has been places of impossible reconciliation, God will make it possible.
Please pray for Ireland and Northern Ireland, for peace and unity between denominational, political and geographical divides. Pray for forgiveness and healing from many generations of pain and division, and for relational reconciliation with the British. Pray that each person in Ireland and Northern Ireland would experience a personal relationship with Jesus. Pray for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit that would lead to revival across Ireland and Northern Ireland and into the United Kingdom and beyond.
Please pray for our team and this trip. Prayerfully consider sowing into this trip financially. The total trip cost including flights from the USA is $2,850USD. If you would like to give, you can do so in USD directly to my BSSM giving link here:
